Connection. Joy. Healing.

Therapeutic Medical Clowning for Children & Older Adults Throughout Greater Boston

At Hearts & Noses Hospital Clown Troupe, we use the art of therapeutic medical clowning to connect with children and older adults where they are – emotionally, physically, and cognitively.

Our work brings lightness into serious situations, offering relief, laughter, and human connection.

Whether we’re engaging a child during treatment or connecting with an elder in memory care, we aim to transform the atmosphere and support healing.

Our special way of clowning is heart-led, science-based, and human at its core.

Who We Are

Our clowns are trained artists, listeners, and compassionate partners in healing, who help patients feel joy, presence, and dignity in moments that might otherwise feel uncertain or isolating.

Working in pairs, guided by professional training and hospital protocols, we bring moments of levity and connection to people of all ages and stages.

Pediatric Clowning

We bring relief from fear, boredom, and pain by inviting children into playful, empowering moments during their hospital stay. Our interactions are led by the child, reinforcing agency, imagination, and laughter in an environment where so much is out of their control.

Elder Clowning

For people living with dementia, we create connection through music, rhythm, eye contact, and non-verbal communication. These visits often awaken joy and emotional memory, leaving behind a sense of calm, presence, and uplift.
